After half a decade of service, SOE’s President John Eastman resigns.
John Eastman became a member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) in 1973 after having been advised by his boss at that time. Fast forward to 2024, John is resigning after serving a long tenure full of exciting challenges and witnessing the industry he was devoted to go through waves of evolution.
John joined the IRTE Professional Sector Council in 1985. During his reign, John also played a pivotal role in taking irtec and Workshop Accreditation from conception through to fruition. Irtec and Workshop Accreditation are today known as the industry standard for HGV and PSV technicians.
John later became President of the Society of Operations Engineers (SOE), the home of the IRTE sector, and has been involved with IRTE’s Technical Committee as well as being a Trustee. Over these years, John’s presence has also shone through IRTE’s regional network as well as our industry peers.
The Society, its members and employees thank John for his continued service and wish him the very best with his future endeavours.
