Bringing together innovation, technology, engineering and manufacturing under one roof, Smart Manufacturing Week is a key event in the industry calendar, designed to connect professionals, spark conversations and showcase the future of manufacturing and engineering in the UK.

From emerging technologies and workforce development to sustainability, automation and skills, the event provides a valuable opportunity for businesses and individuals to explore the trends shaping the future of the sector.

Attracting more than 13,500 manufacturers, engineers, industry leaders and technology providers, it’s the UK’s largest festival of advanced manufacturing.

Visit SOE at Smart Manufacturing Week

We’ll be on hand throughout the event to speak with visitors about SOE membership, professional registration and how professional recognition can support both individuals and organisations.

Attending will be our Head of Operations Alex Clifton and Account Executive Henry Peuble, who will be available to answer questions, discuss career development pathways and explain how SOE supports engineers and employers across a wide range of industries.

Mr Clifton said as industries continue to evolve through innovation and technological advancement, supporting skilled professionals has never been more important.

“At SOE, we are proud to champion professional development, technical excellence and industry collaboration across multiple engineering sectors, including operations, road transport, plant & manufacturing,” he said.

“Smart Manufacturing Week provides the perfect environment to connect with professionals who are passionate about driving the industry forward, and we are looking forward to being part of those conversations.

“Whether you want to learn more about membership, discuss professional registration, explore workforce development opportunities or simply have a chat about the industry, we’re looking forward to connecting with visitors.”

He said Professional Registration demonstrates competence, commitment and professionalism within engineering and technical industries, and provides independent recognition of skills and experience, helping individuals stand out and progress within their careers.

For employers, supporting professional registration can help strengthen workforce capability, improve staff retention and demonstrate a commitment to high professional standards and continuous development.

SOE supports individuals working towards professional registration through guidance, mentoring and membership pathways designed to help engineers and technicians achieve recognition at every stage of their career.

If you’re attending Smart Manufacturing Week 2026, make sure to stop by the SOE stand and meet the team.

We look forward to connecting with you this week.
