In this edition of SOE News, we spotlight IRTE’s headline presence at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2025, where the groundbreaking Maintenance Provision Rating Scheme (MPRS) was officially launched to raise fleet-wide maintenance standards across the industry.

Now complementing the established IRTE Workshop Accreditation, MPRS sets a new benchmark by evaluating maintenance governance, technician competence, and organisational culture using a tiered rating system—from Qualified to Platinum. This new scheme offers a transparent and credible measure of excellence, backed by regulators, OEMs, and industry leaders such as DVSA, DfT, RHA, and Logistics UK.

SOE President Howard Seymour reflects on his professional journey, from early beginnings in engineering to leading the organisation during a time of transformation and innovation.

Industry insights include feedback from early MPRS trials, which informed the scheme’s structure and underlined its value in helping operators meet increasing regulatory expectations.
