Rebekah (pictured left) has a dedicated approach to her apprenticeship, and has been rewarded with an individual prize that showcases the talent of young engineers in the west of England.

SOE Chief Operating Officer Daniel Moir, who delivered an irtec presentation at the event, said: “At the Society, our role is to help our young members, apprentices and students, to give them the knowledge and the support to have a successful career in the industry. Our regional groups are integral to helping us achieve that goal.”

The award is named in memory of Joe Cox, a former secretary of the Road Haulage Association western division, who passed away in 1981. Joe joined the RHA shortly after its formation in 1944, initially as an Assistant Secretary, then later Secretary, at its offices in Bristol.

Eddie Farley from WTA said: “The award aims to further the educational and other charitable objects of the institute. We want to give prizes and awards to people who have contributed to improvement of skills, knowledge and competence in the road transport sector. Our aim is to promote standards of safety, and to identify exceptional individuals who are in training and work or reside in the western region.”
