Apprentices and students will be recognised for their skills at the annual IRTE Ireland North awards ceremony in February at Transport Training Services (TTS).

The high technical level of entrants from across Northern Ireland meant choosing winners proved to be difficult for the judges, but they have now been selected and the names will be announced at TTS.

The second part of the evening will feature Martin McVicker, CEO at Combilift, who will give a presentation on the operations of the forklift provider, and how its design can optimise efficiency, safety and profitability.

The following awards will be handed out on the night:

1. Heavy vehicle level 2 of the year

2. Heavy vehicle level 3 of the year

3. Automotive management level 5 of the year

4. Skills competition winner

Time: 7.30pm on 27 February

Venue: Transport Training Services NI Ltd, 15 Dundrod Road, Crumlin, BT29 4SS.

There will be a light supper with tea and coffee on the night.
