Younger Engineering Professionals

As you take your first steps towards a career in the engineering industry, it might help you to know that there is a life-long learning partner, which is geared towards the development of your career. That partner is SOE.
SOE is a professional membership organisation that represents more than 18,000 individuals and companies in the engineering industry. It supports and encourages best practice and health and safety initiatives, and is committed to the ongoing growth and personal development of its members, through specialist knowledge-sharing and professional learning.

SOE represents the Professional Sectors IRTE, IPlantE and BES. Whilst SOE has a collective and central role for its members, each of the Professional Sectors remains dedicated to developing the skills of its members in their specialist areas of activity.

Who should join?

SOE welcomes people from all fields of expertise and at all levels of attainment. SOE recognises that today’s apprentices, technicians and graduates are tomorrow’s engineers and so, to that end, it particularly welcomes younger and less experienced members.

Members will enjoy the support of a leading professional body as they develop their careers becoming, in due course, fully-fledged professionals in engineering or related disciplines.

It is the Society’s aim:

“To be recognised world-wide by all of our stakeholders as being the most relevant and professional organisation; continually to deliver best practice amongst engineering individuals and their related companies.”

The benefits of membership
