RAF Engineers

Develop your engineering career within the RAF and beyond

Professional body membership demonstrates a commitment to your career and the SOE is the preferred professional body for engineers in the RAF. The SOE welcomes applications for membership from RAF engineers interested in career development in road transport or plant engineering. Many SOE members are in active service and their voice is directly represented through a specialist Armed Forces committee.

Whether you plan to stay in the RAF or want to transfer your skills to a civilian company, membership and registration with the Engineering Council proves that you are a professional engineer.

As an SOE member, we can help you become registered with Engineering Council at EngTech (Engineering Technician), IEng (Incorporated Engineer) or CEng (Chartered Engineer) levels. Engineering Council registration marks you out as a skilled professional in the world of engineering and technology, and the qualification is recognised internationally.

Working alongside the No.4 School of Technical Training in St Athan, the SOE has approved various RAF training courses. This means that engineers who have completed the courses below are eligible for registration with the Engineering Council at EngTech (Engineering Technician) level.
