SOE Engineering Council registrants mark huge rise

6th Nov 2018

The number of Engineering Council registrants who achieved the status through SOE has risen significantly in the third quarter this year, compared to the same stage last year. Registrants increased by 255% from Q3 2017 to Q3 2018.
SOE led the way for Professional Engineering Institutions (PEI) in the period and continues the upward trend of registrations for the Society in 2018.

In Q3 2017 SOE recorded 38 new registrants; in Q3 2018 the figure rose to a total of 135. EngTech rose from 18 to 75, while CEng increased from 17 to 57.

Daniel Moir, SOE Chief Operating Officer, said: “We would encourage anyone who wants to improve their prospects and move up in their career to register with the Engineering Council. This big jump in registrants is a clear indication that our members have confidence in the process and are recommending it to others.
“SOE is historically the strongest in the EngTech category, but we are getting more interest in IEng and CEng than ever before, so the latest results are very encouraging.

“If you are unsure about the registration process or whether you would qualify based on your academic achievements, call us to find out more,” said Daniel.
