Publishing Changes

1st Oct 2018

Publishing changes come into effect soon, as Operations Engineer magazine – a new monthly publication – replaces the old Plant Engineer. The official launch will take place at Maintec, the maintenance engineering show in Birmingham on 6-7 November.

The magazine will be produced by a new editorial team from our publishing partners MA Business, led by Transport Engineer editor Will Dalrymple. All content will be new, improved, and will aim to improve readers’ understanding, knowledge, skills and competencies in operations engineering, built on a foundation of scientific and technological thinking.
Daniel Moir, SOE Chief Operating Officer, said: “The new Operations Engineer will give engineers in the plant and engineer surveyor sectors the quality technical and industry news they need to remain informed and knowledgeable in their profession. I’m confident our members will be delighted with the new magazine, and it will be another major step forward for SOE and its professional sectors.”

The changes come into effect from November, when you will receive either the postal or electronic version of the magazine, based on your preferences. There will be no increase in fees other than the annual membership / subscription fee.

SOE’s newsletter Operations Engineer will be changing too, and from November onwards will be re-named as SOE News. No changes will be made to the scheduling – it will remain bi-monthly – but will contain new features and content.

A features list for the new Operations Engineer magazine scheduled for 2019 can be found here:
