Corporate Partnership Q&A with Francis Mercer

8th Jan 2019

Why is SOE launching a new CP scheme?

The new scheme is designed to show how our new membership offering can benefit organisations as well as individual members. First and foremost, we have listened to our members and have responded with a proposal that gives significant discounts on our most popular accreditation schemes and access to Engineering Council registration, which remains a highly sought-after professional status in the industry. In terms of developing staff skills and knowledge, our new scheme provides a platform from which businesses can adhere to best practice and meet the challenges of staff.

What does it mean for existing CP members?

Existing members are not required to move onto the new scheme, but we would encourage them to do so to fully benefit from our new offering.

How does the scheme help our brand?

In partnering with SOE, it shows a commitment to the development of your staff and, consequently, professionalising operations, which can have a positive impact on the brand.

How does SOE approve CPD?

The underlying purpose of the new scheme is to support organisations achieve their own ambitions, and part of that process is through professional development. Regulatory requirements from January mean that it is now mandatory for Engineering Council and Society for the Environment registrants to record all CPD, so we will be launching a new CPD system this year to make recording progress as easy as possible. As our members have told us how highly they value CPD, we now also provide approval of CP members CPD and training schemes. CPD can be approved for both internal and external purposes by a member of the SOE Academic Panel.

What are the different levels of the new scheme?

The three new levels – Premium Partner, Core Partner and Affiliate Partner (invite only) – each offer a wide range of benefits and cost savings. If you are unsure which would best suit your organisational needs, please contact us to discuss.

What other benefits does the scheme offer?

In working with SOE, CP members will be able to gain access to knowledge from a global community of engineers and technicians. In terms of professional guidance and direction, SOE has a vast resource to call upon, and a wealth of expertise at members’ disposal.

CP members can have their company logo and profile on the SOE website and will be included in the online SOE directories. We offer marketing and PR opportunities, a selection of industry journals and sector events, and access to regional and national events.
