Members of the Central Southern Regional Group, including Chairman Steve Eley and Hon. Sec. John Davies, recently visited Farnborough Technical College for the School of Engineering’s annual prize giving evening.

Head of the School of Engineering, Stuart Murray, welcomed all present and introduced the guest of honour, Sir Donald Spiers, who has enjoyed a long and distinguished career with the MOD and in the aeronautical industry.
Sir Donald delivered an enthusiastic and well-received speech, where he welcomed the young engineers and laid out the exciting challenges ahead, whilst emphasising the importance of their profession and the values engineering brings to society.

The winner of the IRTE Prize was Tristan Brench, who works for Vosper Thorneycroft. The prize was kindly co-sponsored by CV Parts 365 and SOE.
