Lifetime achievement: NW Hon Treasurer David Jacobson presents Hon Sec Archie McNaught with the award

Members of the North Western Centre presented its Honorary Secretary, Archie McNaught, with a lifetime achievement award to celebrate his sixty years as an engineering professional.

Archie received the award from NW Honorary Treasurer, David Jacobson, during an emotional ceremony highlighting the varied career of one the Centre’s most committed members.

Archie is described as a true character who is admired by everyone that meets him. He has been an IRTE member since June 1970 and has served on the committee since 1973. In addition, Archie has taken on the roles of Chair and Honorary Secretary twice each.

Members celebrated Archie’s loyalty to the Centre, and his dedication to ensuring its future. David Jacobson explained how Archie’s commitment has never wavered and, even following some major health scares, he has been as active as ever, often visiting companies, increasing membership and ensuring communication with current and old members is clear.

The Centre thanks Archie wholeheartedly for his work as a highly respected and vital member. The Centre, IRTE and wider SOE, is proud to recognise the work of a true engineering professional.
