This award recognises the important work done by plant engineers who have made an outstanding contribution to any aspects of plant, services or facilities engineering. Entries should clearly demonstrate how the candidate improved maintenance and operational efficiency of fixed or mobile machine assets, keeping them to exacting safety standards and at peak performance to the end of their operational life.
Open to all members of the IPlantE (excluding members of the IPlantE Professional Sector Council) and non-members.

John Denny IEng MSOE MIPLantE
The winner of the Plant Engineer of the year, John Denny, works for Sodexo as an electrical engineer and has won this award because of his drive, enthusiasm and commitment to safety, compliance and professionalism.
John encourages all engineering staff to strive to achieve advancement and attain Professional recognition. He himself wanted to progress as an engineer and recognised he needed help. Using the SOE mentoring program John was able to complete a good technical report for IEng and passed the necessary interviews conducted by his peers after studying for over a year.
John thoroughly deserves this recognition for his continued high-quality work and the support he offers to his colleagues.
