Transport staff credit Redbridge

3rd Mar 2010

CAPTION: Redbridge pride: L-R Amerjit Sahota, Passenger Services Manager. Paul Webster, Passenger Operations Manager. Dave Adams,Workshop Manager. Eddie Cross, Engineering Manager. John Russell, Performance & Warranty Manager

A presentation to transport staff from Redbridge Council was made recently to commemorate the achievements of technicians at the Redbridge Transport Service in Ilford.

Redbridge encourages its staff to continually develop and recently put all its transport technicians through the IRTE’s voluntary technician licensing scheme, irtec. All fourteen technicians achieved a 100% pass mark and gained their well-earned licences. As well as giving customers peace of mind, knowing their vehicles are in skilled hands, the irtec scheme is known industry-wide as a benchmark for competence.

Another accomplishment honoured was from Paul Webster, Operations Manager for Passenger Services. Paul dedicated 400 hours putting together six approved training courses for the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC). This training gives assurance that Redbridge drivers and managers are up-to-date with legislation and are trained in 'eco' driving, which helps reduce wear and tear on vehicles and save fuel.
