SOE aiming for CEnv powers

8th Sep 2010

The SOE is furthering its environmental ambitions by working with the Society for the Environment (SocEnv).

SocEnv is an independent, not-for-profit organisation responsible for awarding the title Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv).

SOE is working to meet the stringent criteria SocEnv sets, so that SOE members will be able to apply for CEnv. The results of this will be available shortly.

CEnvs come from no single profession but operate across all professional sectors. There are now almost 6,000 environmental professionals with CEnv status worldwide, which denotes sound knowledge, proven experience and a profound commitment to sustainable best practice.

Environmental considerations are increasingly important within engineering today, equalling safety and efficiency as top priorities for engineering projects. SOE hopes to be able to provide CEnv to suitably qualified and experienced members, recognizing professional knowledge and commitment in this area.
