Problems encountered when overhauling old plant

With David Bates IEng MSOE IPlantE LCGI Member, Professional Sector Council, SOE/IPlantE

David will discuss a case-study relating to a piece of equipment from the wastewater industry, known as a ‘Grit Rake’. He will focus on a forty-year-old machine’s catastrophic failure, and its subsequent refurbishment, which had to ensure unchanged operational characteristics. This learnShop studies the collision of engineering eras, highlighting compatibility solutions.
