Input needed for HGV apprenticeship standard

13th Jan 2017

Bus & coach engineering manager apprenticeship standard is being amended to enable its use by the HGV sector.

Before the amendments can be approved, a consultation period is now under way to ensure these proposed changes are suitable for the heavy vehicle sector. The following link gives access to more details of the apprenticeships, with documents specific to HGVs at the foot of the page.

The engineering manager apprenticeship standard for HGV follows successful delivery of three other approved standards, which will enable employers to formulate their own working arrangements, whilst building around a national benchmark.

The new standards come at a time of significant focus on apprenticeships, with the government aiming to create three million apprenticeships by 2020 and the new levy being introduced in April 2017.
