Email formats
HTML/plain text emails – what’s the difference?
HTML emails let you view images, graphics and links within the email.
Plain text emails contain only words, with no images, graphics or links.
Choose HTML if you:
- Read your email while you are permanently connected to the Internet
- Have a Web based email service such as Hotmail, Yahoo Mail or Google Mail
- Are not sure, but want to give it a try.
Choose plain text if you:
- Read your email while not connected to the Internet
- Have an email client that does not support HTML mail (such as AOL 5).
If you have any further questions please email onlinemembersupport@soe.org.uk or telephone 020 7630 6666.
