Is developing your engineering career on your radar?

SOE represents naval engineers through its professional sector IPlantE (Institution of Plant Engineers). SOE IPlantE members are engineers and technicians responsible for the design, procurement, operation and maintenance of plant and equipment assets used in industry and the armed forces.

SOE welcomes applications for membership from naval engineers who have completed SOE approved training courses at HMS Sultan and are eligible for registration with the Engineering Council.

Becoming registered with the Engineering Council at EngTech (Engineering Technician) or IEng (Incorporated Engineer) level marks you out as a skilled professional in the world of engineering and technology, and the qualification is recognised internationally.

Courses that the SOE has approved for registration at the Engineering Council are:

  • At EngTech level – an LET who has completed LETQC – ME 276, and passed the OPS check.
  • At IEng level – a CPOET who has completed POETQC ME 284 and CPOETQC ME 298.
