Industry standards

irtec has joined forces with IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) and IMI Awards Ltd, the leading awarding body for the retail motor industry, to strengthen its aims to improve industry competence and standards. SOE and IMI work together, in consultation with industry via Expert Working Groups and a steering committee, on the development of the irtec assessments, to ensure that irtec reflects the changing needs of employers and industry.

IMI Awards Ltd manages the quality assurance process for irtec, including the approval of new irtec testing centres, monitoring of the assessments and assessors.
