Vehicle Forensic Investigation

The Central Southern Regional Group recently held an excellent presentation for its members on ‘Vehicle Forensic Investigation’.

The lecture was given by respected Forensic Investigator Dr Andrew Moncrieff, Director of Hawkins, Cambridge, who are leaders in the field of forensic investigation.

Andrew highlighted the wide range of cases that Hawkins have been asked to investigate, not only from companies, but also private individuals. These cases ranged from an exploding vehicle (caused by using excessive amounts of aerosol based cleaning products inside the vehicle and the owner lighting a cigarette) to road traffic accident reconstruction, used to help prevent fraud and ensure an accurate account of how accidents occurred.

The Committee would like to thank: Dr Andrew Moncrieff for his presentation, Zurich Insurance engineers, and active committee members Antonio Tuccio and Vaughan Pratt.
