Student Awards

29th Apr 2010
Ireland North

IRTE’s winners: Christopher Cahill, Centre Chairman, Jonathan Seeds and Clive Reid.

IRELAND NORTH – April 2010

The Centre recently recognised the achievements of the region’s highest scoring road transport engineering students. Education Officer Jim Cromie spoke of the importance of training, as well as the work and dedication required to pass modern exams.

All the students that were rewarded also work full-time, and study on a day-release basis. This requires teamwork on the part of the student, employer and the college, as well as a thorough employee commitment to continue working to high standards, whilst furthering their practical and academic education.

The awards were presented at three levels of achievement:
Level 2 – (eighteen months experience)
Jonathan Seeds; Northern Regional College; Mercedes Truck & Van Northern Ireland.
Level 3 – (three years experience)
Christopher Cahill; Belfast Metropolitan College; Dennison Commercials.
Level 5 – (equivalent to Higher National
Certificate)

Clive Reid; Belfast Metropolitan College (now South West College). Vehicle Technology Lecturer.

The Society thanks the Ireland North Centre for recognising the achievements of its future engineering professionals and congratulates the winners on their success.
