December 2009 – Local Weather Forecasting and Winter Maintenance Equipment.

SOE President Chris Grime, who is employed by Lancashire County Council as Fleet Manager, informed delegates on the challenges of preparing for and dealing with poor weather.

Highlighting the large snowfall and drifting that took place in Lancashire during the winter period 2008-2009, Chris presented a slide show on the large variety of equipment used by the Council to combat the conditions.
