Ireland Munster revved up for the future

1st Aug 2009
Cork City
Ireland Munster

The meeting, at Cork City’s Silversprings Moran Hotel, provided the Centre and Paul a fine opportunity to speak in depth about ways the Centre and SOE Head Office can support each other.

The Ireland Munster Centre is a well-attended IRTE centre with some very knowledgeable and passionate people in membership. The members of the Centre are mostly engaged in work with cars and light vehicles and, therefore, are interested in the latest technologies in the sector.

The meeting concluded that qualifications are crucial, not only to improve the skill level of the industry, but also to encourage the next generation of engineers who can achieve recognition for joining an industry vital to the economy.

Paul wishes to thank the Centre for their hospitality during his visit, and particularly thanks Donal Buckley and the other committee members for their help. Paul said: “It was extremely enjoyable speaking with the committee and other members about various aspects of motor vehicle engineering.

Ireland Munster members are extremely passionate about the industry and their experience will be vital in developing the region’s next generation of road transport engineering professionals. I look forward to SOE Head Office fully supporting their work.”
