Mike Frost, ExxonMobile, provided some sixty delegates at the IRTE/IMI meeting with a detailed presentation on the exciting world of Formula 1.

Mike is the Formula 1 Technical Advisor for ExxonMobile, which looks after the lubricants of McClaren. Mike explained that his role meant he had to attend all the F1 races across the world, in order to check, test and ensure all the fuel and oil supplied is as specified by the FIA.

Member Presentation
Prior to the Formula 1 lecture, a presentation was made to Ken Jones commemorating his sixty-year loyal IRTE service. Ken joined London Transport in 1940, signing up as an apprentice for five years. He also joined the London Transport Home Guard, spending three years with the Royal Engineers. Ken subsequently qualified as an engineer and joined the IRTE in 1949, and worked at London Transport for over forty-years. Ken has remained a regular IRTE member, attending the majority of lectures throughout the years.
