Fleet Fire Rescue Suffolk

1st Apr 2008
Suffolk

IRTE member Matthew Parsons organised the event that allowed delegates to both investigate the workshop and hear an interesting presentation about Essex County Fire and Rescue Service.

After investigating the variety of vehicles contained within the workshop, including service vans, the new USAR dog van and a Scania there was an opportunity to see how a busy equipment shop handles the maintenance and repairs of LPP’s, heavy rescue equipment and other items.

Chairman Steve Webb said: ‘The visit to the workshops was one of the highlights in the IRTE lecture programme for the 2007/2008 season. The event was excellently organised and the presentation was very professional.’

The evening was a great success with many questions asked from the guests relating to the Fire Service and the repair and maintenance of a diverse fleet.

Matthew Parsons said: ‘This was a great opportunity to showcase the facilities at Fleet workshop and offer our hospitality to our neighbours in Suffolk; everybody seemed to enjoy the visit and went away with an insight to life at Fleet’s Fire and Rescue Workshops.’
