First bus workshop visit

A recent tour of First’s bus workshop proved to be an enjoyable event for members and guests of the Centre, who saw first hand the state-of-the-art facilities available to the company’s regional fleet.

With a comprehensive MOT station, which may in the future be used for in-house testing, the delegates saw how safety and efficiency were priorities in the design and build of the workshop.

Highlighting this, inspection pits are covered by a fully automated, retractable hood. And a computerised chassis and under-body wash has also been installed, which can be programmed to clean at any level, from a routine inspection to preparation for painting.
